Elfo´s extreme freedom becomes an extremely original process of research, in which the expressive meta-language makes his activity difficult to classify in a single category. Street-art was born by Graffiti, but the marginal diversions of the young artists make Street-art a wide pot with undefined borders, always changing. The wall is no more the "canvas" on which they draw codes and places of urban culture, but it becomes part of the work, thanks to an original contamination with land-art and concept-art. In this creative stream are not involved only degraded urban contests, but also people, animals and stuff, in which the final work can be the performance, the photographic report or the poly-material installing legacy. References to Surrealism, such as the gap between objects and their meaning, are mixed with this smart work in a strong awareness of reality. The whole territory is marked, altered by unexpected gestures in which fire can become a short-lived writing or mail-boxes and vans can become grotesque and anthropomorphic monsters. Elfo´s play sphere, always ironic, funny and desecrating, never loses its freshness and intelligence, and it confirms the hope for a new generation ofartists that can offer new energy to Italian art.

L'estrema libertà espressiva del giovane artista Elfo dà luogo ad un originalissimo percorso di ricerca in cui il metalinguaggio espressivo rende difficilmente catalogabile il suo lavoro in un singolo genere.
La street art nasce dal graffitismo ma gli scarti laterali di questi giovani artisti lo rendono un contenitore ampio dai confini continuamente in mutamento. Il muro cessa di essere la “tela” su cui dipingere i codici ed i loghi della cultura urbana e diventa esso stesso parte dell'opera attraverso un originale innesto con la land-art e l'arte concettuale. Non solo contesti urbani degradati ma anche persone, animali e cose vengono inglobate in questo flusso creativo dove l'opera finale può essere la performance, la documentazione fotografica od il lascito installativo polimaterico. Accenni di surrealismo, negli slittamenti di senso delle cose e degli oggetti, si fondono in questo geniale lavoro ad una forte presa di possesso della realtà. Il territorio tutto viene marchiato, alterato da gesti imprevedibili in cui il fuoco può diventare scrittura effimera o cassette delle lettere e vagoni di treni trasformarsi in grotteschi mostri antropomorfi.
La matrice ludica del lavoro di Elfo sempre ironico, divertente e dissacrante non perde mai di freschezza, intelligenza ed avvalora la speranza su di una nuova generazione di artisti in grado di dare rinnovato vigore all'arte italiana.
